Awareness program for the business community of Mawathagama Division regarding the recurrence of Kovid 19 epidemic was held on 07.10.2020 at Samodaya Community Hall, Mawathagama. This was held under the patronage of the Hon. Chairman of the Mawathagama Pradeshiya Sabha, the Mawathagama Divisional Secretary, the Mawathagama Medical Officer of Health, the OIC Mawathagama police station, the Secretary of the Pradeshiya Sabha and the Chairman of the Mawathagama Business Association. The Mawathagama Medical Officer of Health conducted the main lecture for the business community on how to conduct business activities in a manner that does not spread the virus. |

In the Mawathagama Divisional Secretariat area a harmful locust species has been identified. Agriculture officials in the area and the Divisional Secretary of Mawathagama have observed that they are causing severe damage to the cultivation in a short period of time. Agricultural researchers are of the opinion that these locusts can spread to other areas as well. The Secretary asks. If you are concerned about this, please inform the Agriculture Officer or the Divisional Secretary immediately. |
