Charges for Issuing of National Identity Card
Obtaining a national identity card for the first time
- The fee for issuing a National Identity Card for the first time is Rs.200.00
- Fee for sending National Identity card by registered post under normal service Rs.120.00
- Have not applied for a National Identity Card within one year of reaching the age of 15 fine for an applicant Rs.2500.00
- From the date of issue of dual citizenship certificates under Section 19(2) of the Citizenship Act fine amount for an applicant who does not get the national identity card within 06 months Rs.2500.00
Obtaining a new national identity card for a lost national identity card
- The fee for issuing a new National Identity Card to replace a lost National Identity Card is Rs.1000.00
- Fee for sending National Identity card by registered post under normal service Rs.120.00
Amending a National Identity Card
- The fee for issuing a revised National Identity Card is Rs.500.00
- Fee for sending National Identity card by registered post under normal service Rs.120.00
Issuance of national identity cards for dual citizens
- Charges on obtaining National Identity Card for Dual Citizens 19(2) Rs.200.00
- If the period between the date of acquisition of dual citizenship and the date of application for National Identity Card exceeds 06 months, Rs.2500.00
- Fee for sending National Identity card by registered post under normal service Rs.120.00
Issuance of national identity cards under one-day service
- One Day Service Charge Rs.2000.00
- The fee for issuing a National Identity Card for the first time is Rs.200.00
- Obtaining a revised National Identity Card Rs.500.00
- Obtaining a new National Identity Card for a lost National Identity Card Rs.1000.00
- Have not applied for a National Identity Card within one year of reaching the age of 15 fine amount per applicant Rs.2500.00
- Under Section 19(2) of the Citizenship Act, for an applicant who does not obtain the National Identity Card within 06 months from the date of issue of the dual citizenship certificate, a fine of Rs.2500.00
