The Sewing and Handicraft Training Workshop, which is a vocational training workshop organized annually by the Village Development Division, was implemented for the year 2023 at We uda, Mawathagama Divisional Secretariat. At the end of the first training session, the design exhibition held by the trainees to show their skills was held at We uda Vidyathilaka Pirivena with the participation of officials including the Divisional Secretary, Provincial Rural Development Director, Assistant Divisional Secretary, Accountant, and Rural Development Officer.

A retirement Ceremony organized by the office staff for this purpose and Kurunegala Additional District Secretary Mr. W.M.C.K. Wanninayake, Divisional Secretaries of Kurunegala and Ibbagamuwa were participated at the occasion.

Awareness program for the business community of Mawathagama Division regarding the recurrence of Kovid 19 epidemic was held on 07.10.2020 at Samodaya Community Hall, Mawathagama. This was held under the patronage of the Hon. Chairman of the Mawathagama Pradeshiya Sabha, the Mawathagama Divisional Secretary, the Mawathagama Medical Officer of Health, the OIC Mawathagama police station, the Secretary of the Pradeshiya Sabha and the Chairman of the Mawathagama Business Association. The Mawathagama Medical Officer of Health conducted the main lecture for the business community on how to conduct business activities in a manner that does not spread the virus.

It was built under the patronage of the venerable Buddhist monks of the division and with the financial donations of the philanthropists of the area and the financial and labor contribution of the office bearers.
